Bald Eagles
Tionesta Creek, located in the Allegheny National Forest, is one of the only six nesting
areas for the bald eagle. The whole family will enjoy this adventure of seeking
out bald eagles!
Starting in the city of Warren take Rt.6 East to Clarendon. Turn right at the traffic light.
Drive to Chapman State Park. (Perfect for hot sunny days! Cool off on the beach, camp
or have a family picnic!) Turn around and go back to Rt.6 E and enjoy the drive through
Barnes. Turn right onto Rt. 666. Enjoy this leisurely drive through the woods by
Tionesta Creek. Keep a look out for Tall Oaks, "The neatest little store in the woods".
Keep driving until you arrive at Minister Creek Campground. The perfect place to to
take a break. Stretch your legs and take a walk on one of the hiking trails. At
Minister Creek turn right onto #2001. Look out for deer, turkey, pheasant, and bear!
Lots of wildlife on this country road. Follow this road until you get to Rt.6 at
Weldbank. Take Rt.6 W to Warren. |

Amish Trail
Get away from the everyday hustle and bustle and take a nice relaxing drive on the
Amish Trail. With some recreation, shopping and eateries along the way you can easily
make this an all day adventure!
Starting on Rt.62 turn left onto Rt.69 in North Warren. The road signs are very small
so watch carefully so you do not get lost! Turn right onto Scranton Hollow. No
Amish on this road, but don't worry, they are coming up soon. Turn left onto Lindell
Road. Look out for wildlife. It is not uncommon to see deer, turkey or bear on this
country road. On your right you will see an Amish lumber mill, one of many in this
area. Turn left onto Cemetery Road. Keep a look out for Browns Pond. It is located
on your right hand side. Pull over for a picnic, don't forget your fishing pole! When
you reach the top of the hill on this road you have arrived at the highest point in
Warren County.
Turn left onto Lanning Hill. If you are traveling this road around 3:30pm watch out for
the Amish children walking home from school. Turn right onto Swede Road. Turn
right onto Rt. 69. Enjoy the clean crisp air as you go breezing down this road. Turn
right onto Rounds Hill. When you come to a four point intersection, turn left. Follow
this road into Sugar Grove. Turn left onto 957. Stop in at the Bucket Cafe. Sugar
Grove's very own Bar & Grill. Pick from their large selection of mouthwatering
dinners.
Follow 957 until you see the AM Vets sign, turn left. Take a right at the second
four corners. while driving down this country road you will be surrounded by a
canopy of trees followed by a beautiful view. At the bottom of this road is the
White Swan Antique Store. Take a break and stop in. You may find a treasure
that you simply cannot live without. Turn left onto Rt. 958. Turn left onto Rt.6. Follow
Rt.6 into Warren. |

Hearts Content/ Allegheny River
Off of Rt.6 in Warren take Pleasant Drive Extension to Hearts Content Scenic Area.
Stop in and visit this beautiful park. This park features 300-400 year old white pine,
hemlock and beech trees. Hike the one mile trail, camp and/or have a picnic. Enjoy
the quietness of the forest and the glorious scenery surrounding you.
Hickory Creek Wilderness Ranch is located by Hearts Content Campground. This
area is 8,663 acres of wildlife and is the perfect place to take a family. Since the
hiking trail is an 11 mile loop you can take a long challenging hike or just take a
short walk and turn around.
When your are ready to get back on the road continue along Pleasant Drive Ext.
(337) until you get to the Tidioute Overlook. Pull over and experience the amazing
view that awaits! You will be able to see the town of Tidioute, the Allegheny River
and Wilderness Islands.
Follow Pleasant Drive Ext. (337) to the junction of Rt.62, turn right on Rt. 62 N. and
stay on this scenic road until you reach Rt.6 E which will take you back to Warren. |
