1rst: "Summer's End" Sand Sculpture Contest - 2:00pm - 4:00pm - Chapman State Park. Bring along your friends and family for an afternoon at the beach and create an original sand sculpture together. Amaze and astound the park naturalist with you ingenuity - and win anything form Best Sand Castle to Best Fantasy Creature. Meet the naturalist at the beach.

4-5th: Warren Lions Sight & Sidewalk Days - Located in downtown Warren. Hrs: Thurs. 10-8pm, Fri 10-9pm. There will be vendors selling crafts, food and other items. 6th: Big Blue Fall Garage Sale- Located at the parking ramp on Clark St in Warren, PA from 9am-3pm. Benefit from this flea market-garage sale household shopping, out of the weather. Vendors are welcome, registration forms and minimal fee. Explanation can be obtained from the Warren Main Street office at 310 2nd Ave. or by calling 814-723-1360 or email manager@warrenpamainstreet.org. Non-profits are encouraged to register their fundraiser, such as bake sales and produce sales.

6-7th: Wild Wind Folk Art & Craft Festival - Located at the Warren County Fairgrounds from 10-5pm. Traditional award winning craft festival featuring 140 juried artisans, delectable foods, live music, children's activities, demonstrations and more. Held rain or shine, as most exhibits are under cover. For a 2 day pass: Adults $6, Seniors $4, Children 12 and under are FREE. 6th and 7th:  "Clarion River Clean-up Day." - 9:00am on both days - Cook Forest State Park.  Please join us at Cook Riverside Cabins, 1/2 mile up-river from the Rt. 36 Cooksburg Bridge, to help clean up various sections of the National Wild & Scenic Clarion River.  After a busy summer season, there is lots of work that needs to be done.  The Pale Whale Canoe Fleet will provide free canoes and transport to various sections along the river from Halton to Cooksburg.  Please pack a lunch, and bring plenty of water.  If Saturday is rained out, then we'll go Sunday instead.  participants must pre-register at Cook Riverside Cabins by calling (814) 744-8300.  Individuals, scout groups, and civic organizations are encouraged to attend. 13th:  "Searching for the Giants." - 9:am-  Cooks Forest State Park.  Join the park naturalist at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom for a challenging off-trail interpretive hike as we comb the woods to document trail and exceptional trees of Cook Forest.  The Forest Cathedral holds the most remarkable white pine stand in the Northeastern U.S., but don't forget about the monster Eastern hemlock, black cherry, Northern red and white oak in Cook Forest's eight other old growth forest areas.  We will be documenting very seldom seen areas of the park, which may include the following areas:  Cook Trail, Deer Meadows, Seneca Forest, Ridge Camp, Maple Drive, Swamp Natural Area.  We have the potential to break current height records for a number of Northeastern U.S. trees.  We will car-pool to study areas. (2 1/2  hours)
31rst:  " Fire Tower/Seneca Point Historical Tour." - 1:30pm-  Cook Forest State Park.  Please bring your binoculars and meet at the Fire Tower Parking lot for a 45 minute historical interpretive tour of the Fire Tower and Seneca Point.  Learn about local logging history, observe Indian sign, and take a breathtaking view from the box at the very top of the Fire Tower which will be open until 3:00pm. (2 hours)

20th-21st: Allegheny River Jam & Art Festival - Live music in the gazebo at Breeze Point Landing in Warren throughout the day. 20th:  "Cook Forest River Ride." - 8:00am-  This one-day bike ride takes cyclists on a gently rolling route along the Clarion River.  Its a fun, fitness filled day for cyclists of all levels with all monies going to support multiple sclerosis.  This year, there are two route options: 35 miles and 60 miles.  This is a fully supported ride.  There are rest stops with snacks, water and a festive lunch to celebrate your finish.  Participants must pre-register.  Registration and brochures are available at www.cookforest.com.  Event is sponsored by Cook Forest online and New Dominion, LLC.  For more information contact (412) 261-6347
